HTC One X, HTC One S, HTCOne

HTC One X, HTC One S, HTCOne

HTC One owners everywhere (or at least those who want the latest and greatest) have been wondering if and when they will get their beloved devices updated to the newest dessert in the Android bakery.

Australian network Telestra has posted information on its software update page that “may” give a shimmer of hope to those wondering masses. The update page says that both the HTC One XL (which is the global One X) and the One S have official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates being “prepared” by HTC.

HTC devices are notorious for being “maybe they will, maybe they won’t” as far as software updates are concerned, so though it may be listed by Telestra, it wouldn’t be the first time that posted updates never made it to the user. Still, this is worth much more to the tech world than HTC’s statement that it was “excited” about Google’s latest OS version and planned to support it “across a variety” of handsets.

As for One X owners and owners of other HTC Android devices on the Tru network — well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
