BB10, BlackBerry 10 Skype app, VoIP for BB10

There was little doubt that Microsoft’s Skype VoIP app would be coming to RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS. After all, the application can be found in virtually every device that has a screen on it, with some exceptions of course. Still, the latest BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha update put any doubts to rest.

When diving into the embeded icons, BlackBerry fan site BBVietnam came across the icon set for the device that included not only Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, but also Skype.

We can’t say for sure if this is a confirmation that the VoIP app will appear on the OS, as not official announcements have been made. Still, it is admittedly a good sign, and seeing as how the app is available for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone devices already, it could likely make an appearance on BB10 as well.

It’s possible we could find out something more concrete as the January 30th launch event draws ever closer. Until then, we’ll try to uncover some further details.
