Skype logo, Skype Wi-Fi calling, Instant Messaging on Skype

Microsoft has rolled out an update for its native Skype app for Apple’s iPad with a large number of new addition and features, including — most importantly — automatic call reconnection. Skype will now automatically reconnect your call whenever it drops due to poor service over both Wi-Fi and mobile networks.

A new feature has also been added that allows you to add money to your Skype account right from the app itself. The feature is limited to five countries at the moment, however: Estonia, France, Sweden, the UK, and the US. If you live outside these countries, you still have to update from the web.

A new recent conversations sidebar has also been added, accessible by simply swiping from the left side of the screen. This keeps the conversations going in a much more user friendly way while keeping the app itself as sleek as it always was.

Of course, minor bug fixes are a part of the update game, and this latest update from Skype is no different. This fix apparently addresses Skype’s random issue of not displaying conversations in the correct order. The update is now available in the App Store.
