Line App, Line VoIP, Free VoIP Calls on Line

A minor update for LINE on WP8 smartphones brings a new feature and a few bug fixes courtesy of Japan-based Naver Corporation. Specifically, the version 2.1 update adds a setting that can be used to maintain security on a LINE app account; it can be used to allow or deny login from Windows 8 devices, which of course can prevent an unauthorized person or persons from using an unfamiliar PC to log in and wreak havoc on an unsuspecting account.

The update also rolls out a number of bug fixes and stability improvements over its predecessor. Unfortunately, Windows Phone users are still left out in the cold when it comes to LINE, as they have not yet received the Timeline feature that is available on the iOS and Android versions. Still, the Metro UI version of the app looks slick and clean, arguably the most attractive version out of all of them, and it’s only a matter of time before Naver brings these features and more to Microsoft’s OS.

While we don’t yet have a clear confirmation date on when these features will be coming, we’ll keep our ears to the ground and keep everyone updated as the information becomes available. For now, the new update is available in the Windows Phone Store.
