LINE Hello Friends in Tokyo, Japan Conference, Japanese Events

If you’re a big fan of LINE’s messaging app and the services therein, you may be interested to know that the developer intends to hold its second consecutive LINE event on August 21 at the MAIHAMA Ampitheater in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture. Doors will be opening at 12pm GMT +9 and the event itself will begin at 1pm, lasting until 4.30pm.

Dubbed “Hello, Friends in Tokyo 2013,” the event will be taking a look at the LINE app’s accomplishments over the second year of the app’s existence, likely including its recent jump to over 150 million users worldwide. Similarly, last year’s “Hello, Friends in Tokyo 2012” event focused on the app’s first year.

LINE is planning on streaming the event live in both English and Japanese and will also have “exclusive game and photo booths” and will be “selling LINE character goods” as well as “giving away special presents” to guests. The company is holding a contest from July 17 to July 23 in which up to 100 users also have a chance of winning a pair of invitations to the event.

While we won’t be at the event in person this year, we will be covering the event as it happens on August 21. Those interested can find out more about the event and try their luck in the contest on the event website.
