WhatsApp messages, WhatsApp addons, WhatsApp news

Users of both SingTel and WhatsApp Messenger will be happy to know that the Singapore-based carrier has launched a prepaid 3G data plan specifically for WhatsApp users residing in Singapore, and is the first carrier in the country to offer such a plan for WhatsApp users.

The plan offers customers who sign up a cost of roughly 50 cents a day USD and allows users to send messages, videos and photos to WhatsApp users around the world without incurring any additional cost. The carrier’s 30-day plan costs $6 and all plans are capped at 1GB of data per day.

California-based WhatsApp has been looking at playing nice with carriers from all over the globe as it looks to reverse a tragic trend that has gripped the Middle East in the past as Viber was banned in Saudi Arabia, which also looked to ban WhatsApp in the kingdom but so far has decided not to.

This new deal from SingTel will likely be the next in a long line of deals the messaging app will be making with carriers as it looks to continue its growth worldwide even as WeChat recently overcame WhatsApp in overall popularity worldwide.

The pricing with the WhatsApp plan on SingTel is valid until October 31, 2013, so you’ll want to sign up soon. Also, make sure you download the latest version of WhatsApp Messenger.
