KakaoTalk, Kakao, Kakao App

It’s been a long time since a major update hit our Android devices. The last time such an event occurred was way back in July, when South Korea-based Kakao Corp. released not one, but three updates in a week’s time.

The latest update is quite a milestone update, and introduces a completely revamped UI design that follows other UI redesigns across the industry, including those from WhatsApp Messenger and Tango. The new design is actually quite an improvement over the previous look, and many Googlers in the Play store seem to agree.

The app features improved usability and designs for Free Call and Group Call features as well as improved messaging performance. The developers also added a feature to see files downloaded from KakaoTalk PC on your mobile device, among other unspecified improvements and the usual round of bug fixes.

If you haven’t received the update already, you can download it now via Google Play.
