Since extending a deal in August that gives global roamers a way to acquire Globalgig service at Dick Smith retail chains, both companies have continued to work together in Australia to ease roaming charges for travelers in the region.

A new promotion sees Dick Smith bundling a Globalgig international roaming SIM including $30 credit with any GSM-compatible tablet purchased from any of its 330 locations in the country for the next two months, making it a great time for holiday travelers to invest in the service.

Globalgig offers two data SIM-only no-contract plans that span 40 countries in which the company provides service. These plans include the Home & Abroad plan at $9 per month for 1GB; $19 for 3GB; or $29 for 5GB in Australia; and 5 cents/MB in other first tier countries; 20 cents/MB in second tier countries; and the Jetsetter plan that runs $19 per month for 1GB; $35 for 3GB; or $49 for 5GB in all 11 first tier countries. There’s also a 20 cents/MB plan for the second tier countries.

First tier countries include: Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, UK, USA. Second tier countries consist of: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey and Vatican City.

The $30 credit offered by Dick Smith is available on all SIM enabled tablet purchases between 5 December and 31 January 2014 and can be applied to any of these plans. Of course, in addition to the $30 credit and SIM card, Globalgig users also enjoy no lock-in contracts and the freedom to change plans month by month at no extra cost.
