BBM, BlackBerry Messenger, BB Messenger

The long awaited BBM Voice and BBM Channels update was expected to drop for iOS and Android early this year and right on cue, the update has.

BBM Voice brings VoIP capability to Android and iOS for the first time after being omitted from the app’s feature set since its cross-platform launch late last year.

With BBM Channels, users can join conversations with BBM users, brands, businesses, communities and any other organization or cause. BBM Channels is like a mixture between Official Accounts on LINE and WeChat and walkie-talkie channels on Zello.

The update also brings:

  • Faster, easier sharing – quickly add photos, voice notes, files and attachments to your BBM chats from your smartphone or Dropbox account
  • Location sharing – Share your location temporarily, powered by Glympse.
  • 100 new emoticons
  • Larger BBM Groups – You can now chat and share with 50 people in your BBM Group

If you haven’t already, you can get the latest update via Google Play and iTunes.
