As Microsoft continues to shuffle its executive ranks under a newly-elected CEO, it’s now being reported that Microsoft is losing two major executives, including Tony Bates, the former Skype CEO who serves as the had of business development. The other executive is head of marketing Tami Reller.
Reports aren’t confirmed and the news is expected to be announced officially by Microsoft this coming Tuesday. Bates was a CEO candidate to replace Steve Ballmer but after the appointment of CEO Satya Nadella last month, it appears as though Bates is seeking opportunities elsewhere.
Bates will reportedly be replaced by Eric Rudder, EVP of advanced strategy. Since this story isn’t yet confirmed, it’s also not known where exactly Bates will wind up post-Microsoft, if indeed he is confirmed to be leaving. He has been an instrumental part of Microsoft since Skype’s acquisition for $8.5 billion back in 2011.
We’ll be able to find out more this Tuesday when the official announcement is released.
