MobileGlobe, international roaming, travel apps

International carrier MobileGlobe has provided professionals with mobile roaming solutions for the past seven years and has now just released a new WiFi calling function that enables users to save an extra 50 percent on their phone bills, according to the company:

“The idea is simple: when you make a call from abroad on your mobile phone, MobileGlobe automatically detects any WiFi connection that may exist in real time. If the signal detected is considered sufficiently reliable to conduct a conversation in perfect conditions, the operator suggests launching the call through WiFi. Otherwise, the call is processed using MobileGlobe’s normal procedures and is converted from an outgoing call to an incoming one without the caller having to lift a finger.”

After getting the service set up online or with a Mobile Globe representative, you can simply download the MobileGlobe app to your iOS, Android, or Blackberry smartphone for free and you’re ready to roam! The app automatically takes care of outgoing calls abroad.

It’s also worth noting that for each call made, MobileGlobe will choose the cheapest roaming carrier option without you having to do anything.

“our customers can call from other countries even more cheaply”

“As specialists in mobility solutions, MobileGlobe’s expert technicians have developed a powerful algorithm that detects and analyses all WiFi signals and determines how reliable they are in real time. This function has been added to our existing technology and works wherever the caller happens to be (outdoors, in their hotel bedroom, at a WiFi hotspot or wherever). This means that whenever a highly reliable signal is detected, our customers can call from other countries even more cheaply, secure in the knowledge that they can conduct a conversation in optimal conditions,” explains MobileGlobe’s General Manager, Yoann Valenski.

Where no WiFi signal is available, the app will handle calls in the normal way. Should you ever desire to, the WiFi Calling option can be deactivate at any time on the MobileGlobe app or via their online management portal.
