BBM, BlackBerry Messenger, Stickers

Nearly a month ago, we reported on some upcoming changes to BBM that would enable users to send larger files and take advantage of group photo sharing. Those additions have finally arrived, and they’ve brought stickers along with them.

The sticker packs work with the new BBM Shop — a way for the Canadian company to monetize its messaging app — and can range from free to $1.99 as of this writing. Stickers were first introduced in beta form back in February.

Up to 16 MB can be sent as attachments on all BBM versions

As for file attachments when sending photos or other content, BlackBerry has increased the maximum file size for attachments to 16 MB on all BBM versions.

Finally, with the addition of group photo sharing, BBM is brought a lot closer to imo.im, LINE, Tango and other messaging apps that have implemented a similar feature.

If you haven’t procured the update for yourself and your iPhone, Android, or BlackBerry 10 device already, you can do so via BlackBerry World. Don’t worry, Windows Phone fans, you’ll be able to join the fun real soon.
