Telegram Messaging app, Telegram Messenger, Telegram

After receiving some new media capabilities on Android earlier this month, Telegram Messenger on Windows Phone, a 3rd party app turned official app, has just received its own update today.

The new update includes a number of notable new features, including:

  • resume paused downloads
  • instant resending of previously uploaded media
  • save videos to media library
  • cache management
  • fast app resume

While Telegram doesn’t have the massive user bases of WhatsApp Messenger or WeChat, it has so far held its own against the larger apps.

Telegram for Windows Phone was released back in May in beta and has since racked up thousands of downloads on the platform (though official numbers per platform haven’t been made available). The messaging app has been getting very good ratings, averaging 4 stars overall as of this writing.

If you haven’t already done so, or you don’t yet have the app on your Windows Phone device, you can download the updated Telegram Messenger via this QR Code for the Windows Phone Store.
