WhatsApp messaging, WhatsApp VoIP, calling and messaging apps

Yesterday saw the arrival of the blue “message read” tick that caused some stirring among the privacy lovers. Luckily, there was a workaround for the blue tick that allowed users to (kind of) switch it off.

This goes above and beyond the time stamp that shows when someone was last connected

A TruTower commenter also noticed that WhatsApp Messenger now displays a time stamp, letting you know when your message was read. This goes above and beyond the time stamp that shows when someone was last connected to the messaging service, one that’s been there for quite some time.

It’s a neat little addition for anyone who likes the idea of seeing when someone read a message and knowing whether or not to try and attempt another one after a few hours. For some, however, it might be seen as a further invasion of privacy. Let us know in the comments which group you fall under.

Also, be sure to check out the latest version of WhatsApp for your favorite mobile platform.
