Using Telegram Messenger on Windows smartphones? You should be getting an update this morning that adds a number of notable new features and improvements, if you haven’t downloaded it already.

The latest update, version 1.1.3.56, adds the ability to change your phone number, includes a new background interface, and new Windows Phone 8.1 animations, among others.

Here’s the full list of what’s new in the new Windows Phone update of the popular messaging app:

  • Change your phone number
  • New background selection interface
  • New Windows Phone 8.1 animations
  • Updated tiles
  • New self-destruct timer settings
  • Screenshot notification in secret chats
  • Fixed bug with sending photos from the Photos hub
  • Fixed duplicate and disappearing messages
  • Increased stability when sending messages

Telegram, which currently has over 50 million active users, also recently received link enhancements and contact integration on the Windows Phone platform, signaling a pretty steady stream of support for Microsoft’s mobile OS.

The new Telegram can be downloaded via the Windows Store.
