LINE Taxi, LINE app services, LINE Japan

As part of its continued initiatives surrounding the theme of “Life”, LINE has just launched its LINE Taxi service in Japan, a service that we first saw mentioned back in October as a collaborative effort with Nihon Kotsu Co., Ltd.

LINE Taxi is different from the company’s recently launched payment featureLINE Taxi, Uber competitors in Tokyo, Taxi services in Tokyo

the company aims to deploy the services to 129 taxi operators and about 23,000 cars

The service works rather simply. You use GPS to identify your position, request a cab, and pay for the ride without using cash. The service is being offered through Nippon traffic Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo).

According to LINE via press release (roughly translated from Japanese), the company aims to deploy the services to 129 taxi operators and about 23,000 cars in the national footprint in the near future and the company will “continue to strengthen and accelerate business development.”

LINE is available for most major mobile and desktop platforms.
