Facebook messenger, FB for Windows, Messaging and VoIP

If you’re a big fan of mobile messaging games, you could soon find yourself playing them through Facebook Messenger.

That’s according to recent reports in which Facebook has confirmed that it’s speaking with developers about creating games that work within Messenger and can be obtained through its app store.

Obviously, things are still in the early stages, so it could be some time before we see the games actually make an appearance. It’s also not clear how exactly the games would work. Facebook is no stranger to games, so for many, this seems a natural extension of the social network’s web-based features.

For the last couple of months, third party developers have been adding stickers and other features to Facebook Messenger into chat conversations. Facebook has been fighting a long battle with LINE, WeChat, Tango and other messaging apps that have already embraced gaming as a way to increase user engagement.

It’s possible but hasn’t been confirmed whether we’ll see Messenger as simply a way to allow users to log into games or if the games themselves will actually “live” inside the messaging app. What do you think? Would you like to see games on Messenger?
