Snapchat Funding, Snapchat money investments, Snapchat app investors

If you’ve ever had a favorite message on Snapchat that you’d like to keep around, you’re in luck. The iOS and Android apps now have the ability to replay any of your favorite messages, but it’s going to cost you.

The latest update has added the ability to replay three messages for 99 cents. This marks the very first time the company has charged for any feature in the app, instead relying on advertising revenues to drive growth and profitability.

The feature has already been a part of the application for the past couple of years, so the fact that Snapchat is now charging for it boils down to free money for the messaging platform and could signify changes that we may have to look forward to in the future, such as more in-app purchases for features or filters.

Snapchat is not without competition so it appears to be doing all it can to maintain its status as one of the most popular messaging apps out there.

You can get the new update for iOS and Android.
