Mobal first went into business on February 16, 1989 and has been selling international roaming services ever since. Mobal was founded by company chairman Tony Smith. As a lifelong international traveler, he was constantly frustrated trying to keep in touch with family, friends, and business contacts on his many trips overseas. When cellular devices first started gaining prominence, Smith thought of a solution and thus Mobal was born.
The company has offices in New York, the UK and Tokyo Japan. The service works in over 30 countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Northern Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, and Wales.
As is usually the case with international roaming services, there are no monthly fees, no minimum usage, no contract and the user is only charged for data as they use it. Mobal will also provide users with 10MB to start for free.
