LINE for Windows 8, LINE voice for WP8, Windows Phone 8 VoIP

We’ve been getting a number of questions from readers regarding the release of the VoIP feature on LINE for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8, and we have some good news and some bad news to share regarding both operating systems.

We were able to confirm through an email from an official representative that Naver, the company developing the LINE application, does indeed have plans to “actively improve all” their features on LINE, including the “addition of the voice-calling function across the various platforms” on which LINE is available, including Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.

Planned, but not yet in development as far as we can tell. Naver is currently working on developing video calling for the iPhone and Android versions of the LINE App, so we’d imagine that would be a top development priority for the company. Still, here’s hoping we’ll be using LINE on Windows devices by the time version Blue hits later this year.

We’ll be sure to keep our ears to the ground for any additional information on upcoming LINE features and will post it as soon as we can get it. Stay tuned.
