G3 Telecom started off as a long distance provider in 1999 and services customers in both the US and Canada. Praised for it’s high end quality, G3 works hard to maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and has since expanded into other product lines. The latest addition is an international roaming SIM card aimed at B2B and B2C, under the umbrella name of G3 Wireless.

G3 offers two distinct options for the global traveler, the first of which is the traditional roaming SIM, providing talk, text, and data services for North Americans traveling within the United States, Canada, Europe and over 200 countries gloally at “90% savings compared to major competitors” according to the company. G3 also offers a data-only SIM solution similar to that of Doodad. Additionally, the company offers several unlocked phone models, as well as a wireless hotspot for their data SIM, which can connect up to 5 devices such as tablets, laptops, and phones.

Multi-IMSI is also an option, allowing users to obtain a US or Canadian phone number so that calls received by the user are seen and billed as “local calls” by the caller. The G3 service, as with other international travel SIM cards, requires no long-term contract.

In early December 2013, Telehop Communications, Inc. signed a Letter of Intent to acquire G3 Telecom, including its wireless and U.S. operations.
