KakaoTalk for iPhone, KakaoTalk Messenger, KakaoTalk App

Version 3.6.0 of KakaoTalk for Apple devices brings quite the big list of improvements. There’s a lot to go through here, so let’s get right to it.

The emoticon size has been increased when a basic emoticon is sent alone. This makes Kakao’s app arguably more visually appealing. Status bar has also been added to display new notifications while the app is being utilized, but only when you have the “Preview” setting for new messages set to on. This can be done through your app’s Settings menu.

Speaking of the Settings menu, you’ll no longer see the Screen Mode function as an option; the company has removed it in the last update in favor of following the screen settings within the OS itself. Makes a lot more sense.

Improvements in the UI for selecting and inviting friends in chat have also been made. A small tweak to the menu option formerly known as “send photo” has been retooled to “Send photos/Send a video” when you’re selecting from your album. The photos are also now sent in the order they are selected. The UI for items that can be purchased from within the app have been revamped as well.

As is customary for updates, version 3.6.0 also includes its share of bug fixes and behind the scenes improvements. You can experience the new update — the first from KakaoTalk we’ve seen in quite awhile — in the Apple App Store.
