WhatsApp, Messaging apps, Mobile messaging

Some users are reporting a blackout for WhatsApp currently in many areas including the UK, an outage that WhatsApp has also confirmed on Twitter:

Users are reportedly unable to connect to the service at all, but some users are still able to connect, or are not able to send or receive messages to their contacts. Others are experiencing intermittent connection issues. Our WhatsApp accounts on three separate devices are also currently experiencing the issue.

So far, there is no ETA on when the service will be back online, but we’ll keep everyone up to date and will update this article as soon as the popular messaging service is back online. Until then, hold tight and if you are unable to get through on WhatsApp, try moving temporarily to one of the many alternatives on the market.

Update: Service has been restored according to WhatsApp. If you’re still experiencing issues, try turning your device off and back on.
