WeChat on Windows Phone, WP8 apps, Windows Phone chat software

It’s been awhile since WeChat has released an update for its Windows Phone version, but one such update was released today in the form of version 5.3, which adds some pretty sizable and notable new features to the Chinese social platform.

Version 5.3 for Windows Phone differs entirely from the same version number released on other devices in June. The version for Windows Phone adds message recall to the application that lets you essentially undo a sent message within two minutes of sending it, which could be useful in a variety of situations.

Another new feature found in version 5.3 is the ability to select multiple photos and send them in chats which removes a lot of the tediousness when trying to send a larger number of photos to your WeChat contacts.

Finally, the new update also allows you to open WeChat or enable WeChat functions using Microsoft’s voice assistant Cortana, which became widely available on Windows Phone 8.1 devices this past summer. You can try this and the other new features out for yourself by getting the latest update for your smartphone.
