BlackBerry Messenger, BBM, BB10

If you’re using BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) on the BlackBerry 10 OS in the Beta Zone, you’ll notice a few new features have been added in a new update released for the messaging software this morning.

One of these new features are “R” and “D” notification icons, which show when a picture message is delivered and read. These icons are very similar to WhatsApp’s recently released blue ticks and also Kik Messenger’s delivery icons that have been in place for quite some time.

While the aforementioned status icons are exclusive to BB10, some of the additional changes in the new update consist of features that are also available to testers of BBM for iPhone, including:

  • Double-take Timed Messages – Times pictures and messages can now be viewed multiple times until the timer expires.
  • Quicker access to Stickers – Tapping on the smiley face will take you to your first sticker pack in your picker for quicker access.

The update above is now available in the Beta Zone. Of course, if you’re not in the beta, you can get the latest public version here and wait until these features are available to you.

Thanks Bilesha for the tip!
