Even though its a bit early for the official numbers to come out, that hasn’t stopped Reuters from deciding to clue investors in on how well Samsung, whose line of Android-powered smartphones has landed it the title of one of the world’s top smartphone manufacturers, is fairing in the April to June 2012 period.

Reuters reports estimate Samsung’s profit at a record 6.7 trillion won ($5.9 billion), credited mostly to the increasingly strong sales of the Galaxy line of smartphones, led triumphantly by the new flagship Galaxy S III device.

Sales forecasts are slightly below earlier estimates, which pegged about 10 million unit sales for the Galaxy S III smartphone by this month, and while there’s no specific numbers for each division, a Bloomberg breakdown of analyst predictions suggests there should be more good news for Samsung and Android fans to gorge themselves on when the official numbers are released in just a few weeks, on July 27th.
