Amazon Phone, Amazon Smartphone, Amazon Rumor

International roamers — whether they be individual, business, or enterprise consumers, or global roaming SIM or voice over IP app users — love their tablets to do everything from organize to entertain, so it comes as good news, then, that Amazon could be aiming to introduce five or six new tablets soon.

This news comes from Demos Parneros, president of US retail for Staples. These could be different tablets or it’s likely they could thin out to just two tablet models and several storage variants. Either way is good with us. We all like choice anyway.

According to Parneros, the tablets will come in a range of sizes and would include a new ten-inch device. No word on whether these five or six device would include that oft-rumored Amazon smartphone.

On a side note, Amazon has also announced that it’ll be creating a new R&D hub in London, focusing on its services and APIs for TVs, consoles, smartphones and PCs, aimed squarely at rolling these out across the globe.

The original Kindle Fire — and its Android app store — is still not available outside the U.S. Come on, Amazon, it’s been a year. How about a taste of friendly Fire for Europe?
