Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Next Version of Android OS, Google Operating System

It’s only been a couple of days since Samsung first announced that Android 4.1 would be coming to the Galaxy S III “within weeks”, and the first wave of updates seems to have arrived for UK carriers according to Android Central.

Samsung has confirmed that UK carriers have finally begun rolling out the update to consumers. Three UK released the update on October 17th, the software was made available to O2 customers starting October 18th, with Vodafone Galaxy S III owners getting the update starting Monday. No word yet on T-Mobile UK models.

This should come as good news for those of you who are using Truphone VoIP on this device, or have unlocked your device for use with Truphone’s international SIM service.

There is currently no word yet on when the international variant of the Galaxy S III will receive the update, but with it already rolling out in the UK, the update should be arriving shortly for the rest of us.

Have you received the update yet?
