The smaller 4-inch sibling of the Samsung Galaxy S III has hit the U.S. in all its mini, unlocked-only form, a perfect addition to the global SIM-compatible smartphone lineup.

The smartphone was unveiled in early October is currently available in the TruTower online store. Samsung pointed out Europe’s craving for a 4-inch device form as the biggest reason for the Galaxy S III Mini’s existence.

The Galaxy S III mini has a mid-range 800 x 480 resolution (as opposed to its bigger brother’s 1,280 x 720), while the GS3’s quad-core Exynos processor has been replaced by a dual-core STE U8420 chip running at 1GHz. U.S. Galaxy S III devices have a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM. The phone also packs a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, along with a VGA front-facing camera and 16GB of internal storage.
