Skype, Skype VoIP and messaging, Microsoft Free Internet Calling

Skype for Mac and PC just got a little more “generous” as the company continues rolling out updates and adding new features to its VoIP and messaging service.

The application’s new revision on Mac and PC devices brings an eGifting feature that allows users to send Skype credits to anyone they wish as long as they have a Skype account. This should give family and friends a little more incentive to make the switch to the world’s most popular VoIP calling service (if they haven’t already).

The version 6.2 update also brings a slightly redesigned toolbar on the top of the Windows version, making it a little easier to access “Home,” “Creating Groups,” and “Adding Contacts.” OS X users will discover a newly-provided ability to send one-way SMS text messages without having to verify phone numbers.

The update for Mac OS X and the update for Windows PCs are both available right now.
