If you’re utilizing Truphone’s application for calling (or messaging!), you’ve already taken the first step to cheaper international calls. While the rates on calls may have seemed reasonable before, Truphone has gone and dropped the rates even more.
According to an email sent to our inbox from the company, an average of 46% will be saved on the cost of international long distance calls compared to the old rates.
A few examples of this new rate change are listed below:
- $0.01-$0.03 per minute to landlines in:
American Samoa, Andorra, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Germany, Guadeloupe, Guam, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mariana Islands & Northern Marianas, Martinique, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Reunion, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, USA, US Virgin Islands, Venezuela.
- $0.01-$0.03 per minute to landlines or mobiles in:
Bangladesh, Bermuda, Brunei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, India, Puerto Rico, Romania, South Korea, Sweden.
- $0.01-$0.03 per minute to mobiles in:
Hong Kong, Israel, Malaysia, Portugal.
This isn’t the first time in recent memory that Truphone has lowered its rates. Last month, the company very quietly lowered their SIM roaming rates with a significant drop, though the company implied that the drop was more minor.
