WeChat for WP8, WeChat for Windows Phone, WeChat chatting app

Android KitKat is the newest ‘droid on the block and it’s inevitable that all VoIP, PTT, and messaging apps will update their respective wares to work with the new operating system.

WeChat has decided to take the plunge first with version 5.0.3 of its messaging application.

Of course, Android 4.4 compatibility isn’t the only new addition to make the cut. Users can now sign up via email, add Google Contacts, to find more friends (which should take some of the hassle out of the social aspect for Android users), and voice calling.

Clean out WeChat files to save some space on your device

That’s still not all, however. Other parts of version 5.0.3 include the ability to manually clean WeChat files to help conserve space on your smartphone or tablet, a feature that allows the exportation of chat history via email (similar to what users on Viber and WhatsApp have), and finally the ability to edit and send Favorite Messages to friends.

If you haven’t already, you can bump yourself up to the latest WeChat here. Don’t forget to add our official WeChat account to your contacts as well! How is the new version working for you?
