LINE Update, LINE app, LINE calling and messages

As we reported less than a week ago, Japanese messaging platform LINE has brought a few features to Android smartphones and tablets that were previously rolled out to iOS.

These features include categories for the Sticker Shop, as well as a search function that will make it easier for users to find stickers featuring their favorite LINE characters.

This new update brings features that were previously rolled out to Apple devices.

LINE also went ahead and replaced “Timeline” with “Add Friends” on the main menu bar and moved “Timeline” to the More menu in an effort to make navigating the application easier for users.

A feature has also been added that bears similarity to Twitter’s “mentions” feature and allows users to reply to Timeline comments by using the “@” symbol followed by their LINE friend’s name. The maximum number of photos allowed on a per album basis has also been increased to 1,000.

iOS users aren’t being left out of the update cycle this time either. Both iOS and Android have received 4 new Christmas and New Year BGMs to Snap Movie, which will need to be updated to work with the changes.
