Skype, Captain America, Skype promotions

Emoji are everywhere, as they have been for well over a decade since the advent of instant messaging services such as Windows Live Messenger. While stickers are the next big thing for calling and messaging app users, emoji still hold their popularity, as shown in Skype‘s launch of Captain America-themed Emoji.

Five limited edition emoji bring Captain America characters to Skype chats

The new Skype-exclusive emoticons were recently launched and allow users to strategically (or not) place their favorite Captain America: The Winter Soldier characters into their Skype conversations. The emoticons are available for a limited time and include Black Widow, Nick Fury, the Winter Soldier and Captain America, as well as a fifth secret emoji that can be unlocked using clues.

The new emoji isn’t the only thing Skype users can look forward to this month. Skype also recently launched the “Skype European Dream Sweepstakes” in which users can enter to win a European vacation simply by signing up here and then signing into Skype using a Windows 8.1 device. Those who enter the sweepstakes can also earn additional entries by sharing a tweet, sending an instant message to their Skype friends, and by watching a special video. View the link above for more information and to enter (assuming, of course, you’re in the United States or Canada).
