Zello, push to talk, social apps

We’ve known about Zello’s push to talk app coming to Windows Phone for quite some time, and we last reported on the developer’s efforts back in January with the launch of beta sign up.

The beta has officially launched today, but if you’re not on the guest list to test the app, you’ll have to wait on the sidelines until it’s officially released. And hey, there’s always Voxer in the meantime if you’re looking to quench your push-to-talk thirst on the world’s 3rd most popular mobile platform.

Like the app on other platforms, Zello for WP will allows you to participate in one-on-one or group conversations using Zello’s exclusive channels feature that enables open and live conversations. The “TruTower” channel is one such channel on Zello. Of course the app is also free on 3G, 4G, or WiFi with no ads and the ability to see who’s available and more.

As soon as the official app launches, we’ll be sure and post a link here. For now, though, you can view the private beta at this location.
