UppTalk, Calling apps for Android, free messaging apps

UppTalk has been nominated for “Fastest Rising Startup of the Year” at this year’s European Tech Startup Awards, which celebrate the most forward thinking, progressive and innovative tech companies in Europe. Winners are judged and selected by peers from the startup and investor community.

“We’re exited and proud that UppTalk has been nominated for ‘Fastest Rising Startup of the Year’ and honored that we are being hailed as one of the hottest tech companies in Europe,” said UppTalk CEO Jochen Doppelhammer. “This recognition shows that the industry embraces the UppMovement and our unwavering commitment to making worldwide communication free again and unbundling it from telecom networks. The only way is Upp.”

“[We] will soon be launching our SDK & API based services to developers”

According to Doppelhammer, UppTalk is uniquely positioned to change how telecommunication works in many parts of the world. ”We’re no longer just an app nor just a service. We’re building a next-generation global telecom network in the cloud that other communications services will be able to connect to and talk with our users. Which is why we’re open and universal, and will soon be launching our SDK & API based services to developers so they can connect to our users and create more great services in the cloud.”

UppTalk also recently launched a campaign to keep users from texting while driving. The app is available for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
