WorldSIM, global phone service, bill shock

For international roaming specialist WorldSIM, it’s not always about helping customers save money on roaming, making it easier to stay connected while abroad and keeping the perils of bill shock at bay. It’s also about giving to charity and helping charitable organizations.

The company was successful in last year’s effort to support African entrepreneurs, and the global carrier has announced that they will be giving free international SIM cards away to charities in a bid to help non-profit organizations reduce their mobile phone bills while they are doing their all-important work overseas.

“putting an end to extortionate roaming bills … will be able to free up more funds generated from donations”

Charities, like many a business user, are prone to high roaming costs, which could hinder their work by reducing their productivity. Charities have had to tighten their belts over the past few years and with the decline of public donations, and so they need all the help they can get in order to give aid to those who need it. The cost of international roaming is a huge expense to non-profit organizations and WorldSIM believes it can aid in reducing these costs by 85% with its international roaming SIMs.

“Charities are doing great work all around the world in very difficult circumstances,” said Arif Reza, WorldSIM’s CEO. “By putting an end to extortionate roaming bills charities will be able to free up more funds generated from donations and use them to benefit the needy and less fortunate.”

It’s no secret that nationwide network providers generally charge extremely high amounts to those who are roaming on their networks, especially in developing countries where charities carry much of their work. In fact, just answering a call while overseas could cost as much as £1.50 for those with a UK SIM, $4.09 for Australians and $5.99 for Americans, all per minute. This is in contrast to WorldSIM’s free international roaming in over 90 countries.

Any charity on Earth can qualify for 3 free SIM cards

The company says it will be giving 3 SIM cards out per charity. Any charity on the planet can partake in this offer by visiting www.worldsim.com/free-sims. If you aren’t an international charity, and you still feel like WorldSIM could be a terrific companion for you on your next trip, you’ll want to visit the company’s website to obtain your own SIM before you leave.
