BBM, BlackBerry Messenger for Windows Phone, free apps on WP

Not too long ago, BBM for Windows Phone was released in public Beta form, and now the latest update (verson 1.01) drops the beta tag and includes a few things the team discovered during the beta cycle that needed fixing.

The new release fixes a number of bugs and makes performance improvements “caught during the beta phase,” and one of those things is the reduction of load time for the app.

The latest release doesn’t yet bring BBM Channels or other features to the world of Live Tiles, but BlackBerry does have plans to release these in the future after the basic functions are working at their highest quality. This means updates such as the one released today should be quite common between now and then.
