WhatsApp for Windows Phone, free WhatsApp subscription, WhatsApp news and reviews

WhatsApp for Windows Phone has received some new features and improvements in a new update pushed out this morning. The release includes some features that WhatsApp originally launched in its closed beta for Windows Phone program and is the first major update we’ve seen on the Windows Phone platform in quite a while.

Version 2.11.586 contains the following new changes:

  • WhatsApp now opens faster
  • Share Location: drop and drag pin lets you share a precise location
  • You can now add captions to photos and videos
  • Crop and rotate photos
  • Added ability to archive chats and groups
  • Each chat or group can now have it’s own background
  • Better support for phones with high-resolution screens

WhatsApp currently has 600 million users worldwide, although Facebook hasn’t broken this number down based on platform.
