Oovoo, Oovoo app, Oovoo for Smartphones

Over the weekend (yesterday, to be exact), ooVoo received an update that brought some notable new features and changes to the app and brought it more in line with the applications available for iOS, Windows desktop, and Android.

The full changelog follows:

  • You can now add a group photo to your conversation – pick something awesome!
  • We added a last seen status, so you know the last time your friends were online.
  • We added a typing indicator! Now you can see when your friends who are on the latest version of our Mac, Android, and iOS apps are typing in a chat.
  • Squashed Bugs

Not too long ago, ooVoo also released its developer SDK to allow developers to add voice calling to their WebRTC applications powered by ooVoo. While there aren’t yet any applications aside from the main ooVoo app utilzing this SDK (that we know of), it nevertheless opens up possibiliteies for additional communication features in the near future.
