WP8 Windows Phone 8, Viber for Windows Phone 8, Viber Messaging VoIP

It’s been a long time coming, but as we expected with last weeks announcement, Viber VoIP has been approved and should be available to all Windows Phone 8 users in the Windows Phone Store!

As we confirmed in an earlier article, the new app provides the long-awaited HD voice service to the application and also brings group chat and Live Tile support. Stickers are also planned for release down the road.

HD voice and group chat arrive with Viber for Windows Phone with stickers planned for future release

We first heard about Viber VoIP way back in January and we’re happy to see it finally make its way to the Windows Phone ecosystem. We’ll be spending some time with the application and will be able to post a review shortly.

The official announcement sent by Viber to our inbox follows. Download the new Viber from the Windows Phone Store!

Our release for Windows Phone 8 platform includes both our HD calling and messaging services. A full list of the officially supported devices of Viber with Windows Phone 8 can be found in this link, in our official HelpDesk: http://helpme.viber.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/159/26/is-your-windows-phone-7-compatible-with-viber-system-requirements.

Note that not all of Viber’s known and loved features have been incorporated in this first release for WP8. We are working these days on adding more features to our Windows Phone 8 app, so you can expect updates soon.
