Nimbuzz, VoIP and messaging, applications

Nimbuzz Messenger‘s developers have certainly been busy over the last 24 hours. A new version for PC as well as one for Android have been released. The former received a great number of additions and improvements while the latter received tweaks.

Specifically, the new Nimbuzz for PC comes with below useful features & improvements:

  • Export entire chat history on your computer in desired folder.
  • Phone number based registration introduced for quicker, safer password retrieval.
  • Chat with your FB friends even if they are offline and Notifiable. Nimbuzz now allows you to send Push Notifications and offline messages to them.
  • Improved verification process to provide better chatroom experience.
  • Resolved chatroom related issue where users were unable to enter the room.
  • Overall performance Improvements (Connectivity, Bug Fixes).

As for Android, Nimbuzz has released a set of fixes in version 2.5.2 for medium-rated security issues, mostly in the chatrooms, in order avoid another situation similar to Tango’s hack and Viber’s defacement on their support site. Needless to say, in order to get the best security, if you are on an earlier version of Nimbuzz, you’ll definitely want to upgrade immediately, which you can do via Google Play.
