Absinthe A5 iPhone Hack, Cydia

According to the iPhone Dev Team Blog, nearly 1 million of Apple’s iPhone 4S and iPad 2 devices were jailbroken using Chronic Dev Team and iPhone Dev Team’s software “Absinthe A5,” which was released three days prior.

The two groups released the download figures less than 48 hours ago. These downloads were tracked using Cydia, which is an app store that comes with the jailbreaking software.

As of Monday afternoon, “491,325 new iPhone4,1 devices; 308,967 new iPad2 devices; 152,940 previously jailbroken (at 4.x) iPad2 devices” were jailbroken, for a total of 953,232 jailbreaks in a little over 3 days.

Here’s hoping a number of these devices will see their new-found freedom on Truphone!
