Nokia has posted a few images on its official Facebook page teasing what appears to be an announcement for later today, Monday, June 18th, possibly regarding the U.S. availability of its 808 PureView.
One of the images features a satellite image of Hawaii with a Nokia maps control overlay, location bubbles, and the date in big bold letters. It should be noted that Hawaii’s area code is 808.
The image of Hawaii was followed up an image of the Roland TR-808 drum machine, with tempo cranked all the way up, and then a third image depicting what appears to be artwork cropped from the 808 State album ex:el.
Even more interesting is that Nokia’s mysterious announcement happens to fall on the same date as Microsoft’s mystery event in Los Angeles, which seems to point to a rumored tablet announcement.
We’ll just have to wait and see what exactly goes down in Los Angeles; fortunately we won’t have too long to wait.
