iPad Mini, New Apple iPad, Smaller iPad

We’ve been hearing iPad Mini rumors for months, and like any rumors, we always keep a certain level of skepticism set aside to keep our excitement in check. Still a new iPad from Apple would give a lot of fans a new toy to play with.

Both Bloomberg and the WSJ have said that Apple is reportedly close to producing a tablet with an 8-inch or smaller screen, so there might be some merit to this particular rumor. The details that do exist are unsurprisingly thin outside of the screen dimensions, although Bloomberg understands that there won’t be a Retina display like in the current 9.7-inch new iPad.

The Wall Street Journal has caught some rumors that volume production ramps up in September, while Bloomberg thinks that an announcement could come “by October.”

Only time will tell if these rumors are indeed true. Until then, it looks like the Nexus 7 can continue its existence without much in the way of competition, at least for now.
