In addition to the portrait calling on tablets, the update also brings localization to Portuguese, Norwegian and UK English and some various performance improvements and fixes. Of course, the update also includes the previous fixes and features brought to the Android app.

Skype 3.1 for Android is available to download from the Google Play store. Have you downloaded it yet?

Full release notes for this new version of Skype:

  • It was not possible to answer incoming calls with locked screen on Android 4.1.
  • Skype did work with proximity sensor on Android 4.2.
  • Incoming call screen was not properly aligned on Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
  • Skype occasionally crashed when put to background on Android 4.1 and 4.2.
