Nokia Lumia, Windows Phone 8 smartphone, WP8 phone

If you’re really into big phone screens, then you’ll want to keep an eye on Nokia for the next month or two, as they’re rumored to be working on a “phablet” (smartphone+tablet crossover) powered by Windows Phone 8 that they’ll be unveiling at a special event expected to take place in New York City.

The original report claimed that the device would be between 5 to 6 inches, a 1080p screen, and a quad-core processor. The device is rumored to be the Nokia Lumia 825. Sources at WPCentral were able to confirm that the device would indeed be 6 inches and feature the 1080p screen. In addition, Microsoft’s GDR3 update will be available in the device from the get-go, alongside a 20MP camera (not exactly Nokia 1020 quality, but we’re not complaining!).

Nokia is also rumored to be releasing a Windows RT-based tablet simultaneously at the event. If these rumors prove true, it will move both Nokia and the land of Live Tiles into new territory that could help it continue gaining worldwide traction.
