WeChat, WeChat for Android, Latest Changes

Bug fixes are one of those evils that developers have to contend with, particularly on the Android side of the spectrum. With quite a list of OS versions to support that isn’t as big a problem on other platforms, it’s often difficult to make sure apps work just right on all devices.

For those running WeChat on Android, you’re the lucky recipients of a new round of bug fixes meant to tackle a few of these issues.

The new version, 5.0.1, fixes the dreaded crash that occurred when viewing Moments in the Portuguese version. As the name implies, Moments is a neat way of capturing photographs that define different moments in your life and sharing them with your friends over the WeChat service.

The new update also fixed a problem that prevented some devices from playing voice messages. If you still experience problems playing these messages (or other issues not mentioned here), let us know in the comments. Other smaller bug fixes round out the latest version of WeChat, which can be downloaded directly via Google Play.
