TextMe makes it simple and easy to send and receive text (SMS) messages to and from any mobile numbers at no cost, and the company has just launched a new version of its application in the United Kingdom, making it the first large scale mobile messaging application to a free SMS service in the UK.
So what does this mean? It means free SMS and a free local number for users in the UK starting today for users on both Android and iOS. Users will be able to send and receive SMS messages to and from any mobile number in the UK without cost.
“Our vision has always been to remove the modern barriers to communicating and provide our users with universal free communication options,” said Christophe Bach Co-Founder of TextMe. “With this new version of TextMe, our UK users will now enjoy the same great service we offer in the US, Canada and Israel. For the first time, anyone in the UK can enjoy free SMS directly from a mobile app.”
Bach describes this release as the most ambitious product launched by TextMe outside of the US.
