WhatsApp, WhatsApp logo painted, WhatsApp paint

A TruTower reader with an eagle eye noticed that WhatsApp Messenger for BlackBerry 10 has been updated, bringing some new improvements to those utilizing the app on the world’s 4th most popular mobile operating system.

The new update brings lists for broadcast messaging to more contacts at one time, new Emoji for BlackBerry Z10 and Z30 devices, a page emoticons selector for all devices, and improved startup performance.

A couple of bug fixes also joins the aforementioned new features, including a pesky profile photo bug that caused some issues for users when they would select images to use as their profile photo that were too large to use. Other minor bug fixes are also present, though the changelog made no mention of these.

We’re not seeing any changes yet in BlackBerry World on our end — it still shows the minor November 18th update that built on November 1st’s as the most recent update for the plaform — but BerryReview also made mention of the update so we have no reason to doubt its validity. You should be able to get the new update soon if you haven’t already.
